Three Hats

Three Hats

Petite fedora with a pink ribbon, decorated with a spritely flower …

Cowboy hat with seashells, an unusual combination…

Stately gentleman’s hat, perfect for that hot summer party…

No second guesses which hat belongs to who in this little family.

No second chances to make memories while that pink ribbon rests on one tiny head.

A good investment – this carefully woven straw.
Take good care of them? Of course!
Tuck them away in a closet? Never!

Let them tumble in the sand, get wet in the ocean, accidently stomped by a well-meaning friend.
Let them come home smelling like sweat, the zoo, dirt, the lake, and countless applications of sunblock.

What matters is that these hats are worn.
Sometimes separately, but usually together.

Someday, someone might want to grow up.
And want to wear a beanie, with other beanie wearing friends.

Until then, there are more adventures planned for these hats.
Dreamed adventures.
Soon adventures.
Now adventures.

Before that miniature fedora grows up.
